I was commissioned by the department of Geography and International Development at University of East Anglia UK, to research and produce course material in the form of two case studies for their undergraduate students.
The case studies were based in theories of Human and Economic Geography, specifically Urban Planning and Political Ecology. The professors commissioning this work encouraged me to examine these subjects at their intersection with Indian food systems. The case studies were titled “The Political Ecology of Coffee Production in the Western Ghats”, and “The Politics of Planning, Development and Livelihoods in KR Market, Bengaluru”.
I travelled around the city and state conducting fieldwork to gather interviews and testimonies of multiple stakeholders, produced and edited basic video, photo and written documentation for the multimedia study materials.
Working on these projects helped me further hone my interests in food systems, specifically at their intersection with economics, political ecology, sociology and human geography.
Email me to request a sample of this work.
Samples will be shared at my discretion, as the work was commissioned for the institution’s internal use only.
