Farmous Foods, a startup expanding into the FMCG food sector, set out to create ready-to-cook products that combined convenience with the richness of India’s regional cuisines. While the company had long-standing expertise in cosmetics and hygiene, food was a new market vertical —making it essential to build credibility through cultural authenticity and culinary insight.

I worked with their brand Bhuna Pisa to explore how regional cuisines could be translated into an FMCG format without losing their essence. This involved in-depth research into food traditions, developing research dockets for product development, and collaborating with the company’s Food Technologist to refine flavour profiles. Alongside this, I helped shape the positioning and storytelling around each product, ensuring that it resonated with both consumers familiar with these cuisines and those discovering them for the first time.

The research and frameworks developed continue to guide the company’s product pipeline, enabling the launch of ready-to-cook products that stand out for their flavour, authenticity, and usability. The project not only gave Farmous Foods a distinctive voice in the crowded convenience food space but also laid the foundation for long-term innovation rooted in India’s diverse culinary heritage.
