Who Feeds Bengaluru is an exploratory research project I program in collaboration with Elizabeth Yorke and Anusha Murthy, the founders of Edible Issues, an award-winning collective focused on fostering dialogue on the Indian food system. Our objective with this ongoing project is to understand the different forces that shape the way Bengaluru city interacts with food, its production, distribution and consumption, through public participatory research and community engagement.
My work here involves researching, conceptualising and programming activities in and around Bengaluru that can foster our understanding of the city’s foodways. Through this programming we have worked with organisations such as Science Gallery Bengaluru and the Bengaluru Sustainability Forum, academics from Azim Premji University, and Indian Institute of Human Settlements, as well as a number of practitioners and citizen experts.
